THINGIVERSE FONT
2017
Paper
3D models from the Open Source databank, Thingiverse, where model data for 3D printing is available, are selected for their resemblance to letters and numbers. The objects are all spare parts and upgrades for 3D printers. A whole alphabet is formed from these objects, and the files are uploaded to Thingiverse again to offer them as a font.
Parts of the font are constructed as word- and number sculptures for an exhibition as reference to other works shown.
The font is available here: www.thingiverse.com/thing:2016769
